Welcome to an overview of our 2025-26 Homeschool Program Offerings

Spring River offers flexible programming and support to the growing homeschool community in Northeast Florida seeking a holistic education.  We welcome those parents interested in an education inspired by Waldorf methods and a "whole child" view of human development, as well as those looking for a more part-time experience to enrich and supplement other educational choices.

For the 2025-26 school year, we have made some changes to our traditional offerings that build upon our ten-year legacy of innovative, independent, Waldorf-inspired academic programs.  We continue to focus on educational programs that nurture the developing child with equal attention to the head, heart, and hands. These offerings will include:

  • Outdoor education, movement, and nature connection

  • Streamlined and distinct program options to accommodate both full-time and part-time needs

  • Integrated Student Support

  • Programming that provides students with time and space to meet their individual needs outside of class and explore their emerging interests.

Our re-imagined offerings for 2025-26 reflect our mission to foster a culture of well-being for families and staff. This includes dedicated time for our K-8 staff on Fridays, allowing school leaders and class teachers ample opportunity for collaboration and planning. Our programs also ensure clarity, focus, and freedom for teachers to address the needs of our full-time program without compromising the pace and content for previously combined part-time and full-time programs. We have designed our offerings to include specific "pauses" throughout the week for balance, relaxation, and family time. Our salaries, benefits, and tuition are aligned with current financial trends and state-supported programs for independent education, such as the Step Up for Students scholarship.

Currently, our families have been able to receive reimbursement from the Step Up for Students for our program offerings.  Our High School Program is already a Step up For Students Direct Pay Provider, and we are working towaqrd becoming Direct Pay Providers for all of our offerings for the 2025-26 school year.

Preschool Offerings for 2025

Our Parent & Child classes run year-round in seasonal sessions, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for children and caregivers alike. These sessions offer caregivers a space to connect, engage in discussions about child development and parenting, create crafts, enjoy a simple, healthy snack, and explore a Waldorf-inspired approach to home life.

We offer two tailored parent-child programs for our community:

  • Tide Pools, guided by a WECAN (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America) trained early childhood teacher, meeting in a community space in the beaches area.  In Fall of 2025, these classes will meet in 6 week sessions on Fridays from 9 am -11:00 am

  • Peaceful Steps, an entirely outdoor Forest Parent & Child Program led by an inspring and innovative Lead Forest School Teacher from Spring River.  These classes are currently meeting on Tuesdays in Spring 2024.  Beginning in Fall 2025, these classes will meet in 6 week sessions on Thursdays in 2025, 9:30 am - 12 pm.
