Welcome to our

Waldorf-Inspired Homeschool Community

We believe childhood should be filled with wonder, purpose, and a deep connection to the living world.

Every child deserves an education where curiosity flourishes, creativity thrives, and nature is an essential teacher.

At Spring River, thoughtful, dedicated educators know each student as an individual, guiding them through inquiry, artistic exploration, and hands-on experiences that cultivate confidence, compassion, and a lifelong love of learning.

Spring River is a Waldorf-inspired learning community offering educational pathways from kindergarten through high school. We believe every family deserves the opportunity to choose the educational experience that best supports their child's growth and development while remaining part of the Spring River community.

One Philosophy. Many Learning Pathways.

Although each pathway is unique, every Spring River program begins with the same belief: children learn best through meaningful experiences.

Whether learning beneath a canopy of trees, exploring a local watershed, creating through the arts and handwork, tending a garden, preparing a shared meal, or engaging in thoughtful discussion in a high school classroom, children discover that learning comes alive through discovery, creating, and meaningful connection with the living world.

Educational Pathways (K-12)

Whether you're looking for a full-time outdoor program, homeschool enrichment, immersive nature experiences, or a hybrid high school, each Spring River pathway is guided by the same Waldorf-inspired philosophy and commitment to educating the whole child.

More About Spring River

Why Families Choose Spring River

Childhood is a time to explore, create, ask questions, and discover one's place in the living world. At Spring River, students learn through direct experience—engaging with nature, creating through the arts and handwork, tackling meaningful work, and developing the confidence to think independently. Every pathway is thoughtfully designed to honor each stage of child development while nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of purpose.

Our Classroom Is the World Around Us

While our administrative home is on Pine Street in Atlantic Beach, learning extends far beyond four walls. From kindergarten through eighth grade, each school day is designed as an educational field trip, with students exploring local parks, beaches, nature preserves, gardens, and community spaces as an integral part of their learning experience.

When weather calls us indoors, our carefully chosen learning spaces provide warm, welcoming environments where hands-on, experiential learning continues. Our high school program is based at our Pine Street campus, blending classroom study with meaningful experiences throughout the surrounding community.

Designed to Support Children, Families & Teachers

Every Spring River program is intentionally designed to support children, families, and educators alike. We believe healthy learning communities are built on thoughtful structures that allow both students and teachers to flourish.

  • Outdoor education, movement, and meaningful connection with the living world

  • Clearly defined full-time and part-time educational pathways

  • Integrated Student Support responsive to the individual needs of each child

  • Flexible program models that honor family life while supporting sustainable teaching practices

  • Dedicated planning and collaboration time for teachers, strengthening instruction and reflective practice

These thoughtful structures allow each educational pathway to flourish while remaining united by a shared philosophy, common values, and Waldorf-inspired pedagogy.

Because every Spring River student is homeschooled, parents remain the primary educators in their children's lives. Our role is to partner with families by providing inspiring educational experiences, experienced teachers, thoughtful guidance, and a vibrant learning community that enriches each child's homeschool journey.

Accessibility and Partnership

We believe a Waldorf-inspired education should be accessible to as many families as possible. Spring River participates in state-supported educational scholarship programs, including Step Up For Students, and offers Direct Pay options across all of our programs to provide flexibility for homeschooling families.

More than a program, Spring River is a partner in your homeschool journey. Together with families, we cultivate curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning while honoring parents as their children's primary educators.
