Waldorf-Inspired Homeschool Community

Welcome to an overview of our Homeschool Program Offerings

Flexible, Waldorf-Inspired Homeschool Enrichment Programs serving Grades K-12

Spring River offers flexible programming and meaningful support to the growing homeschool community in Northeast Florida. Our offerings are ideal for families seeking a holistic education inspired by Waldorf methods and a “whole child” view of human development. Whether you’re looking for a comprehensive full-time program or part-time enrichment, we provide options to fit your educational path.

A Place to Learn and Grow

Our home base is at The Atlantic Theaters in Atlantic Beach, FL, with spacious classrooms and administrative offices. Yet, our identity is deeply rooted in outdoor learning. In our K–8 all-outdoor program, students take daily field trips to nearby parks and preserves, cultivating a deep connection to nature, self, and community. Spring River students thrive in an environment of encouragement and respect, learning to be self-sufficient and engaged with the world.

Our curriculum and teaching methods are thoughtfully crafted to nurture each child's unique potential, addressing the intellectual, emotional, and practical aspects of human development.

What's New for 2025-26

For the 2025-26 school year, we made some changes to our traditional offerings that build upon our ten-year legacy of innovative, independent, Waldorf-inspired academic programs.  We continue to focus on educational programs that nurture the developing child with equal attention to the head, heart, and hands. These offerings will include:

  • Outdoor education, movement, and nature connection

  • Streamlined full-time and part-time program options for greater clarity and choice

  • Integrated Student Support designed to meet individualized needs

  • Flexible Scheduling that honors, balance, family time, and teacher well-being.

Our redesigned structure ensures that each program can flourish and fully serve the students in front of them, without being limited by the structure of previously combined models. Class Teachers in our full time program have dedicated planning time on Fridays, and intentional pauses throughout the week provide space for rest and renewal—for both students and staff.

We align our salaries, benefits, and tuition with current financial trends and participate in state-supported programs such as the Step Up for Students Scholarship. For the 2025–26 school year, we offer Direct Pay for all our programs, making Spring River more accessible than ever.

A Partner in Your Homeschool Journey

Spring River supports your family’s educational goals without limiting your homeschooling freedom. Parents remain the primary educators and can tailor their child’s learning at home while benefiting from the inspiration, resources, and community found within our programs.

High School Homeschool Program (9-12)

Preschool Offerings

Our Parent & Child classes run year-round in seasonal sessions, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for children and caregivers alike. These sessions offer caregivers a space to connect, engage in discussions about child development and parenting, create crafts, enjoy a simple, healthy snack, and explore a Waldorf-inspired approach to home life.

We offer two tailored parent-child programs for our community:

  • Tide Pools, guided by a WECAN (Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America) trained early childhood teacher, meeting in a community space in the beaches area.  In Fall of 2025, these classes will meet in 6 week sessions on Fridays from 9 am -11:00 am

  • Peaceful Steps, an entirely outdoor Forest Parent & Child Program led by an inspring and innovative Lead Forest School Teacher from Spring River.  These classes are currently meeting on Tuesdays in Spring 2024.  Beginning in Fall 2025, these classes will meet in 6 week sessions on Thursdays in 2025, 9:30 am - 12 pm.
