Spring River School stands out with its unique approach to home education in Northeast Florida. Our school offers a distinctive blend of hands-on, creative programming inspired by Waldorf learning methods. We warmly embrace each family, offering an all-outdoor K-8 program and indoor high school classes for grades 9, 10, and 11. We also offer a homeschool enrichment nature immersion program that meets two days a week for grades K-5, a parent meet-up group for ages birth to five, and parent-child programming throughout the year to support families.

Our home base is at The Atlantic Theaters in Atlantic Beach, FL, providing spacious office and classroom space. However, our commitment to outdoor learning is a key part of our identity. In our K-8 program, we take daily field trips to local preserves and parks, fostering a deep connection with the natural world and our community. Students at our school are welcomed to a place of respect and encouragement, where they learn to be self-sufficient and are provided the space to flourish. The curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching methods are designed to nurture and realize each student's unique potential.
Parents outside of Spring River may homeschool their children however they choose. Our parents and teachers are available to provide inspiration and ideas that complement our supplemental program.

Note: Many of our families have been successfully reimbursed for homeschool classes taken at Spring River with the support of the PEP (Personalized Education Program) Scholarships, which are open to any K-12 Florida residents not enrolled in full-time private or public school. A Parents' Testimonial
What first drew us to Spring River is that the Waldorf-inspired path to teaching literacy feels organic. This is our second school year and what amazes us is that every child feels smart, as they should. Pick-ups are full of smiles and happy (yet very dirty) kids.
Spring River’s teachers care about who our children are, not just what they can learn. They care about their hearts, what makes them tick, how they learn, how they treat others, what they like, and what makes them excited.
With Gratitude,
Lauren and Tom Galvin
