Spring River School distinguishes itself with its unique approach to home education in Northeast Florida. Our school provides a distinct blend of hands-on, creative programming inspired by Waldorf learning methods. We warmly welcome each family, offering an all-outdoor K-8 program, flexible part-time homeschool classes, and a thoughtfully designed indoor High School program.
Other programs include a Forest School nature immersion program for grades K-8, a free parent meet-up group for children ages birth to five, and year-round parent-child programming to support families.
Our home base is located at The Atlantic Theaters in Atlantic Beach, FL, which offers spacious office and classroom space. Nevertheless, our commitment to outdoor learning is a fundamental aspect of our identity. In our K-8 all-outdoor program, we take daily field trips to local preserves and parks, nurturing a profound connection with the natural world and our community. Students at our school are welcomed in an environment of respect and encouragement, where they learn to be self-sufficient and are given the opportunity to thrive. The curriculum, pedagogy, and teaching methods are crafted to nurture and realize each student's unique potential.
Parents outside of Spring River can homeschool their children in any manner they choose. Our parents and teachers are available to share inspiration and ideas that enhance our supplemental program.
Note: Many of our families have successfully received reimbursements for homeschool classes taken at Spring River with the support of the PEP (Personalized Education Program) Scholarships, which are available to any K-12 Florida residents not enrolled in full-time private or public school.
